What to ExpectOn arrival you will be welcomed by your chiropractor. Once you are settled in the clinic room, your chiropractor will take a complete case history. It is from this that your chiropractor will be able to gain a detailed understanding of your problem and start to form a differential diagnosis.Once the case history has been completed, your chiropractor will then take some time to explain chiropractic care and our approach to helping your problem and answer any questions you may have. We will also explain any possible reactions to treatment and provide aftercare advice. Once you have given your chiropractor consent to proceed you will be asked to undress down to your underwear in private and offered a gown to wear. An examination will then be undertaken which may include appropriate orthopaedic and neurological tests as well as range of movement testing. At any point during the examination please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. After your examination, your chiropractor will then give you feedback and explain the findings. At this point a treatment plan will be discussed and the probability of any risks associated with your condition and the proposed treatment. With your consent, your chiropractor will then proceed with your treatment which may take about 30 minutes. At the end of your treatment, aftercare advice will be reiterated and if appropriate exercises may also be advised. You should allow about one and a half hours for your initial appointment. |

I had a sudden sharp, stabbing pain in the middle of my lower back and all the muscles in the surrounding area locked up. It was agony just getting out of bed or the bath but four treatments over six weeks completely cured me – and it has not recurred thanks to quarterly support care treatments. The McTimoney technique was gentler than I expected by so effective.
